What is the photo-a-day challenge, you ask?
Let me tell you! The idea originates back to an Australian blogger and is quite literally exactly what it sounds like: a challenge to take a picture every single day for a month. The fun part? There is a list of words for the month, each one is a kind of inspiration for the picture that day. The coolest part about it is seeing all the different ways people interpret the word (and thus, how/what they take a picture of that day). Cool, huh?
Well once I became aware of this photographic phenomenon, I began to notice people everywhere (the blog world, facebook, twitter, etc.) posting their pictures and I soooo wanted to join in! Sadly, I missed the January boat and never ended up taking a single picture as part of the challenge.
Just yesterday I saw that the challenge was continuing on in February, woohoo!!

Day 1
Your View Today
My view is looking out the window from the dentist's office. The office overlooks Katy Trail and faces downtown Dallas. It's probably the best view I've ever had from a dentist's office. Sadly this gorgeous view was observed while I was being told that I needed a root canal.
Sigh.
Day 1 Follow-Up
(Yes, I realize that I am breaking the (1) photo-a-day rule but I just can't resist - call me a rebel)
My view after the dentist's office (and after the dreaded root canal) was these gorgeous flowers! My sweet husband came home during the middle of the day to check on me and brought these pink/yellow beauties with him. He placed them on our dresser so I could see them from bed (where I spent my entire day recovering from the above mentioned pain fest dental procedure).
Roses are my favorite.
Day 2
Words
Everyday I love seeing these colorful words on the front of my [amazingly cute] life planner. Ever heard of Erin Condren? She makes stationary, stickers, notepads, and planners, and they are all WONDERFUL. I had this planner made for 2012 and went with the "favorite things" style.
Today's picture (day 3) will follow shortly! I'm making it a personal goal to get the pictures up asap!
