Fun Friday Lunch!

My coworkers and I have been on a "Fun Friday Lunch" kick lately. It's been great to get out of the office on Friday afternoon and spend some time chatting, catching up and gearing up for the weekend.
Today we decided to try a hot dog joint - Hofmann Hots in Trinity Groves

Hofmann's keeps it simple - the menu is made up of almost exclusively hot dogs (with the exception of 1 fish sandwich and 1 salad), and fried sides. You can get a "good 'ol hot" (dog) if that's your thing, or you can try one of their crazier dogs. Some of the options were a Fajita Dog (grilled red & green bell peppers, onions, jack cheese), a Bruschetta Dog (balsamic tomato, basil, mozzarella cheese), or even an Avocado Pico Dog (avocado, tomato, cilantro, tortilla “confetti”). They all sounded good!

Being a New Yorker, I'm a little bit picky about my hot dogs and went with a classic Sauerkraut Dog. I couldn't decide between tater tots or mac & cheese as a side - so I asked if I could do half and half of both (yesterday's restaurant side experience was clearly rubbing off on me!)....and they said yes! Both were delicious!

Overall it was a perfect spot for lunch. I love places that focus on doing one thing really well instead of having a menu full of a zillion different options. Hoffman's checked that box for me! The food was great and the atmosphere was fun ("punny" signage around the restaurant included!).

A lot of food for a small person!

Did I mention the hot dog buns are made out of Texas Toast? Yes, we were in Dallas after all!

Just in case you were wondering, the hot dog in the first picture was a friend's order - the Himalayan dog (onion chutney, toasted curry aioli, fried onion straws). Yum!
