15 Weeks

Bump Updates | Joie de Vivre

How far along? 15 Weeks

Total weight gain: Up 0.7 lbs from last week. 2.7 total. The internets say it's normal to gain about 1 lb a week from the second trimester to the end. 25 weeks & 25 lbs to go I guess. Honestly that terrifies me a little, but I know it's for the baby and what's considered "healthy." I've just never weighed 25 lbs more than I do right now so it's a little stressful.

Maternity clothes? Not yet. Though now you can for sure see my stomach sicking out a little bit in most of my form-fitting clothing. Regular jeans are still comfortable. The waistband on my favorite PJ bottoms is getting a little tight.

Sleep: Okay this week. We got back into a more normal routine and I think I was able to get 8+ hours each night.

Best moment this week: Last weekend we got to see our nephew, Lawson! He and Bayley were in town for spring break and it was a blast getting to spend an afternoon with them. Lawson gets bigger each and every time we see him. It's crazy how fast they grow! Other fun moments: I toured two more daycares last week - both were good and definitely on the maybe list. Also, Taylor and I went to the mall yesterday to browse for a diaper bag. I have a long list of options I'm considering (haha see registry post) and wanted to see them all in person. I'm pretty particular about bags and so want to get something that I'll really like and enjoy using, even if that means spending a little more (I'll share my considerations soon!).

Worst Moment this week: Nothing that I can think of!

Miss Anything? Runny eggs. Taylor and I make eggs and toast for breakfast just about every morning. I used to rotate between a fried egg with a slightly runny center, or a scramble with cheese and spinach. Runny eggs are a pregnancy no-no because of the risk of salmonella from the egg not being cooked all the way - and it's killing me! All I can think about is a delicious, runny egg. A few weeks ago I accidentally got a fried egg on a burger at lunch and I didn't realize it until about halfway through - but man that was the best burger I'd had in a long time (and the runny egg was totally the reason why!).

Cravings: Cocoa puffs. Yes, still. I think I've had a small bowl after work just about every day this week. Funny craving, but it may have to do with the chocolatey taste because I've also been craving these macaroons. So delicious. They're vegan and have good ingredients, but really, they just taste amazing. I've been having 1 every other night with a small glass of milk. Perfection.

Symptoms: Sleepy in the late afternoons and still have some smell aversions.

Looking forward to: Continuing to research baby gear & tweaking our registries!

Baby girl is the size of a navel orange this week!
4.0 inches and 2.5 ounces.

Newest trick this week?
The baby can sense light from outside the womb.
Yes, that means Taylor and I are totally intrigued with the idea of shining light on my stomach to see if we can get her to move.
Just kidding.
