17 Weeks

How far along? 17 Weeks

Total weight gain: Well, I've made up for being flat last week. Up 4.7 lbs total as of this morning.

Maternity clothes? Not on a regular basis, but they're awfully comfortable.

Sleep: No complaints!

Best moment this week: We toured a townhome last weekend and it was really fun to start house-hunting!

Worst Moment this week: Having to eat dumplings without soy sauce (see cravings below). We found some amazing frozen dumplings at Trader Joe's and got home and heated a few up and the realized that we didn't have any soy sauce. Sad, sad day! On a serious note, I think the biggest bummer this week is that I haven't felt the baby move yet. Soon I hope!

Miss Anything? Missing wine this week! The weather finally turned beautiful and a glass of cool, crisp white wine sounds wonderful.

Cravings: Dumplings. Steamed. Just a little craving here and there - but don't they sound good!? Still loving apples.

Symptoms: Still headaches and nasal congestion. Oh and fainting. Haha, that sounds dramatic, but truly, I did almost faint this week. It happened when we were walking around the townhome with our realtor last weekend. It was very sudden - one minute I was fine and the next my hearing started getting muffled and my vision started going dark. I sat down (on the edge of a tub!) and it passed in about a minute, but man, it was weird! I called my OB's office to let them know about it and plan to chat with them about it this week. From everything I've read, I think I could be low on iron. Trying to up my iron intake!

Looking forward to: Two appointments this week! The first is our 16-week (yes, late) check-in with my regular OB. Just a normal visit: we'll get to hear the baby's heartbeat & they'll make sure everything is on track. The second is our Level 2 Ultrasound (aka the 20-week anatomy scan) at the Fetal Care Center (where we had our genetic counseling a few weeks ago). I'm excited about this appointment because they'll be spending a lot of time looking at baby and measuring just about everything. Can't wait to see our jellybean!

Baby girl is the size of an onion this week!
5.1 inches & 5.9 ounces.
