When the planning process started, we couldn't really decide on one theme, so we decided to just choose things that were pretty, feminine, pink, and floral. Eventually everything came together and it turned into the most beautiful Vintage Garden / English Garden theme. I love the way it turned out!
The hostesses with the mom-to-be!
Sometimes baby shower games can be awkward - I'm not a fan of the silly games like having to try baby food varieties blindfolded or attempting to diaper a stuffed animal! However, I do think more subtle/subdued games can be a great way to get guests who may not know each other find it easier to strike up a conversation. Plus, when you do have a group of people who don't know each other very well, it gives people something to do if they're feeling a little out of place.
We decided on the Price is Right game: one of the hostesses put together a basket of baby items and each guest takes a turn looking at everything and then estimates the total value for the contents of the basket. The person who guesses the closest without going over wins a prize (a Starbucks gift-card) and the mom-to-be keeps the basket.
Hayden's sisters made this pretty banner that we hung over the fireplace:
I took on the task of putting together a menu and preparing the food - I was thrilled with how it turned out! The shower was from 2-4pm, so we decided to focus on heavy appetizers (and sweets, of course!).
I found much of my inspiration from scouring Pinterest. One of the other hostesses put together the amazing flowers in the center of the table - gorgeous, isn't it!?
The forks were another little project I took on. I just love wooden forks for some reason, and decided that I wanted to incorporate them into little utensil packets with pretty pink napkins. I found an adorable set of baby stamps & stamped the bottom of each fork to make them a little more unique.
For drink options we had a Pink Lemonade Punch (SO good!) and Strawberry-Basil Infused Water, as well as Tea and Coffee options to go with cake.
The cake was from a local bakery and was absolutely amazing!
White chocolate mousse with raspberries.
Oh yes.
The favors (a mud mask, Burt's Bees chap-stick, and a cute hair tie):
