32-33-34 Weeks

How far along? 34 Weeks

Total weight gain: Somewhere around 17-18 lbs. I keep forgetting to weigh myself!

Maternity clothes? Oh yea.

Best moment(s) this week: Well I've fallen into the lovely trap of being way behind on my weeks again! So, here's a best moment roundup from the past 3 weeks:

-Family Reunion down near Austin: lots of fun! Managed not to take any pictures at all some how. We did sneak away to the outlet mall and while we didn't find anything for the nursery, we did find the exact two glass  lampshades that Taylor had been eyeing to go over our kitchen island. He actually bought all the separate pieces for these (glass shades, bulbs, light parts), and put them together! This was his inspiration but the finished product was just a fraction of the cost! They look great don't they??

-Nursery updates: We scored a beautiful dresser off Craigslist - it's a mod style and was exactly in our price range. Looks similar to this one. Besides that, we finally settled on (and purchased) a crib. We finished painting all the walls in the nursery (+ the trim) and 2 weeks ago had a sweet (and uber talented) friend come paint a gorgeous mural on one wall. We're on the hunt now for crib bedding and we're also trying to think out decor and storage for the room.

-Baby showers: That's right, not just one, but two baby showers last week! The first was a work shower at TRG & it was wonderful! My sweet coworkers decorated a conference room beautifully with all things pink and set up the most delicious pot luck lunch. We had a great time feasting on the delicious food and then there were many gifts to open!

The second shower was over the weekend and was just beautiful! There were yummy munchies, gorgeous cupcakes, and many friends and family members there to celebrate.

The most beautiful invitation EVER - planning to frame one & put it in the nursery!

Aren't these cupcakes (and the cake above) just darling!? Aimee made them!!

Head over heels for this adorable fingerprint tree guestbook by Bleu de Toi! Friends from Pepperdine started a company hand-drawing prints like this one to be used as guestbooks at weddings, showers, etc. and I just love them! We'll be hanging the finished product in the nursery.

Sweet hostess Aimee & baby Ike Winters:

And hostess Hayden & baby Alden Marie:

These were the hostess gifts I settled on: a two-piece box of chocolate from Kate Weiser & an Anthropologie candle.

Miss Anything? Non-maternity clothes. It's kind of funny: I was so excited about maternity clothes in the beginning of my pregnancy but now I'm starting to envy people whose shirts hang straight down and miss pants/jeans/shorts without a giant stretchy band at the waist

Movement: Kind of like having a small caged animal attached to my midsection. Haha okay it's not quite that bad, but baby girl does move a TON! She's still most active at night when I finally settle down, but she does move here and there all day long too. I notice it most around the times I eat - it's crazy to think that what I eat affects her so much. Give me a sweet piece of fruit or a sugary treat and you can bet she'll start wiggling around a few minutes later.

Cravings: Nothing super pregnancy related the past few weeks. Watermelon and grilled corn have been especially delicious, but I think those are just summer food cravings. Haven't really been wanting anything like sushi or dumplings lately. Sandwiches still sound pretty good!

Symptoms: Edema. Oh foot swelling, how I loathe you. All possible pregnancy symptoms considered, I know I'm lucky to have this be my main problem, but man is it a pain! As it has been for the past month or so, it's mostly just in my right foot, and luckily, it does stop around my ankles (and not go all the way up to my knees!). But it's annoying. It usually gets worse when I've been standing the whole day or out running a bunch of errands in the heat (shocker, right?). Then it takes a good 3-4 days of diligently putting my feet up at work (and when I get home) and drinking tons of water to get them back down to "normal." I'm over it. I keep asking the doctor about it and they keep saying it's just a normal pregnancy symptom since my blood pressure has been annoying perfect every time I go in (foot swelling + high blood pressure = bad).

Mood/Sleep: Mostly great! I've been a little off here and there but I think it more has to do with lack of sleep than anything else. Between moving, unpacking, and getting our condo on the market, we're working a ton (outside of normal work) and not really getting enough rest. I know it's not the wisest way to be spending the last 2 months before baby, but there's so much to get done!

Looking forward to: Heading to a Rangers game this weekend! It'll be hot hot hot but should be fun. Oh and we got our maternity pictures back!!! Can't wait to go through them & share a few!

Baby girl is somewhere between 17.2-18.7 inches long &
somewhere between 4.2-5.8 lbs.
She's the size of a butternut squash this week (@ 34 weeks)!
