Inspired!

Wow oh wow have I been blog-inspired lately! There are some awesome, incredibly creative blogs out there. I've graduated from just regularly checking in on my list of friend-blogs to a new obsession with the entire blogging world. Is it bad that I've developed a new habit of going from a friend's blog to one of their friend's blogs to one of their friend's blogs? I sure hope not. It sounds creepy, but I promise it's not. And, to my defense, it's not like I'm just reading up on other people's lives (though that may happen occasionally)...these blogs are about everything: photography, baking, cooking, webdesign, etc.!

Did you know...you can pay someone to design your blog? Well, I didn't. Okay, I mean I did, like a professional type web-design person who designs sites for companies, but not just people my age who are good at it and have their own business for it. Way cool!

So I asked Taylor if we could pay for someone to design mine (I mean "ours").

He said no.

Boo.

Funny story: I was browsing a blog-design website (Redbud Designs - go check it out, it's great!), and recognized a blog I'd seen before as one of their creations! Gasp! Now granted, I don't actually know the person who has the blog in question (I just stumbled across their blog from someone else's blog), but I now know the truth: they didn't make it themselves. I feel a little betrayed. I probably admired their blog and thought "wow how cool are they!"...and now...are they still as cool? After a minute of thought after my discovery, I decided yes. I learned (from reading lots of blogs) that even if you have someone else make it, it's still your creative input/design ideas/preferences/personality that make the blog what it is. However, I'm even more impressed with the people I know for sure made their blogs themselves! Go you!

But I would still pay to have someone design mine if I could.

I don't think my plain 'ole template is going to cut it for much longer. Changes might be necessary. But I need to figure out how to do it all first. Consider it a work in progress.

Another obsession related to the blog world? Fonts! I learned about 1001 Free Fonts at Pepperdine, and downloaded oodles of fonts onto my old laptop. My new laptop needed a little boost, so I've been happily adding new ones when I need them. Today I discovered DaFont.com...love it!

There are special fonts for (important) places:
Fonts that can be used for special occasions (like the one oh so near)...

I love fonts. That's all for now.

You know I will design a blog for you whenever you want (for free)! Can't promise perfection, but I do dabble :) We can talk at small group!

Also, Sharon (of Redbud Design) is a friend of mine from ACU! She does amazing stuff!
