Pregnancy Announcements

We had so much fun sharing our baby news with family and friends over the course of the first trimester. Since the majority of our family members are out of town, I knew I wanted to come up with some kind of cute picture that we could send them.

And, I might as well throw it out there: I just love cute & creative pregnancy announcements, gender reveal announcements, etc.
That'll become realllly obvious here in a minute or two.

I searched around pinterest (such a good place to get ideas for something like this!) and started pinning anything I liked. Here are some of the most adorable ones I found:

Calendar Announcement

Fall/Pumpkin Announcement
(or really just tying it in to any holiday)

Shoe Announcement
(or "Growing by 2 Feet" Announcement)

So after getting lots of inspiration, I started pulling bits and pieces from everything I liked and came up with our own concept. I knew I wanted to incorporate either a cute onesie or pair of shoes and I also definitely wanted to include our first sonogram. I fell in love with a little Jelly Cat bunny and knew he had to be part of the picture as well (Jelly Cat stuffed animals are the softest things in the world!). We didn't know the gender of the baby at this point, so we kept everything pretty neutral.

This was the finished product (and was how we shared our news with long-distance family & close friends):

Sign/Etsy
Onesie/J.Crew
Bunny/JellyCat
Banner/Handmade

Since we had the opportunity to tell Taylor's parents in person, we attached this little note to a bouquet of flowers and gave it to them (it was right around Valentine's Day, hence the poem):

My mom came into town a few weeks after we shared the news with her, and we surprised her with this little gift from the baby - Great moms do get promoted to grandma!

As we got closer to the second trimester, we started sharing the news with co-workers. I told my pod-mates about our news with donuts over pod-breakfast one Friday morning:

Our last big announcement was the one we put up on Facebook. This was another one where I spent a little bit of time browsing pinterest until I came up with the perfect idea. Taylor and I had a blast taking these pictures & it was such a fun way to share our news!

We scouted locations in Deep Ellum (I knew I wanted to be against a brick wall), but it rained the day we had decided to take pictures so we ended up inside at Reel FX! It actually ended up being awesome to be inside, right next to a huge bank of windows so there was still a lot of natural light.

We also knew the gender at this point so I knew I wanted to incorporate pretty pink flowers & balloons!
