22 Weeks

How far along? 22 Weeks

Total weight gain: During the week I was up to 10 lbs, but this morning was back down to 9-ish. We'll go with that.

Maternity clothes? Loving 'em! Got a new pretty black & white top this week - looking forward to wearing it! Still wearing my regular jeans.

Stretch marks? None yet. Still keeping my fingers crossed and slathering on lotion & coconut oil at least once a day (sometimes twice). At the very least it's keeping my skin pretty soft!

Sleep: No complaints this week. I'm definitely sleeping on my sides about 95% of the time. If I end up on my back in the middle of the night it tends to wake me up.

Best moment this week: Our 2 doctor's appointments were definitely the highlight. Wednesday we saw our regular doctor and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. At my next appointment I'll have my glucose challenge test and then just one more appointment after that before I hit my 3rd trimester - it's going by so fast!

Friday we visited the Fetal Care Center & got a sonogram - so much fun to see the baby! All her limbs were measuring well and she was weighing just a little under a pound (0.92 of a pound). She's in the 29th percentile so currently a petite little thing. Makes sense I guess as I'm on the smaller side and Taylor was a small baby (5 lbs 8 oz!).

Another bit of good news: my placenta is starting to move! It's still partial, but it looks like it should keep moving as the weeks go by. So thankful! They still have me on activity restrictions, but I'm just glad that it is in fact moving.

One last thing: I got to go see the Newsies this week with sweet girlfriends - such a fun, fun show!

Worst Moment this week: I'm terrible at this question - I can't ever think of something that was really, truly bad. I think I was the most frustrated with myself on Friday morning at work when I had not just one
but two
{delicious}
glazed donuts
plus
a kolache
......after I'd already eaten my normal breakfast! I'm trying so hard to avoid excess sugar and empty calories but I just couldn't resist! Le sigh.

Miss Anything? Forgive the broken record I've turned into....but: exercising! Taylor and I went on an awesome walk Saturday morning around White Rock Late (it was just beautiful out!) but he wouldn't let us walk very fast and capped our time at just a little over an hour. Grinch. I know he means well though.
Movement: Much! I love it. Her kicks are getting a little stronger too. I mostly still only feel them when I settle down at night, but I've been starting to feel them throughout the day as well when I stop moving. Taylor can feel her move just about every night. We told the doctor that at our appointment and they were surprised he was able to feel her move so much!

Cravings: Right now I would probably kiss anyone who would bring me a smoothie from The Gem.
Oh.my.goodness.
I'd been craving a good healthy juice or smoothie after my donut debacle on Friday and so we popped into The Gem after our walk Saturday morning for a snack. They have pretty short hours (closing at 230pm every day & not even open on Sundays) but I just love this place. They're definitely on the granola/organic/slightly-hippie side of things, but their drinks are amazing (menu here).

I tried the Chocolate Diamond for the first time - it had banana, cashew milk, cacao, cinnamon, agave. So amazingly delicious to this pregnant lady! Taylor had the Crown Jewel (banana, cashew milk, coconut manna, spinach, blueberries, dates, cacao, cinnamon, maca) and it was just as tasty. The woman who took our order (who happened to be the owner as well) made a point to tell me that I needed to make sure to get myself the Crown Jewel the next time because the baby needed the spinach. I'll gladly do it, but man the chocolatey one I ordered was exactly what I needed!

Symptoms: None that come to mind!

Mood: Pretty good!

Looking forward to: It's going to be a busy work week I think, but it's also "Showdown" week which means a bunch of industry lunches and happy hours which should be fun (for the food and socializing, of course!).

Baby girl is anywhere from 8-11.8 inches
(I really should ask this at our next appointment)
& weighing in at just under a pound!
She's the size of a spaghetti squash...
which we didn't buy in time for the official 22-week pictures.

This is the picture we snapped after grocery shopping:
I think Texas veggies (and fruits) and just large.
This squash was almost 2 lbs (so twice the baby's weight),
but it is around 8ish inches so that's close to accurate at least!
