28 weeks!
Total weight gain?
Wellll last week's 13.5 lb report might have been a little artificially low. I was actually surprised that I hadn't gained more weight in Jan, especially after being on vacation for almost 2 weeks....and turns out my suspicions were right. It took a few days after our trip but the number is up to 16.6 lbs total gained so far - that number is definitely more on par with my pregnancy with Arden!
Maternity clothes?
Yep!
Stretch marks?
Not yet, but my skin is still dry so making sure to use lots of lotion!
Sleep?
Okay once I get there. This past week I've been going on walks in the evenings and the added activity definitely wears me out. By the time bedtime rolls around I've been a bit sore and so it's been a little hard to get into a comfortable position to sleep.
Movement?
So much, all the time!
Cravings/Symptoms/Mood?
Not craving anything this week. Nothing major going on either!
Best/Worst moment this week?
It's been hard getting back into the groove post-vacation! I'd say we're pretty much over jet lag by now, but it's been hard just getting used to doing normal things like cooking at home and doing laundry. I'm glad that the weekend is here!
Random Thoughts?
Let's see...last week we went to a early childhood education class at Arden's school. They offer them about once a quarter and this month the subject was toddler discipline - a subject I've been reading a ton about lately. Taylor and I both felt like we got some good pointers from the class, and it was fun getting to chat with other parents about issues they're having too. For the most part Arden is an amazing toddler - she's sweet and happy about 99% of the time. There are only a few moments here and there where we've really had to work on discipline (so far) - and I'm thankful for that!
We did start really getting serious about looking into daycares for babyT this week. We're on the waitlist for a spot at our current school, so we went ahead and reached out to a few other places that we know we like, just in case we have to have him start at a different school. I'd much, much rather have them at the same place! Unfortunately it looks like for now we're just going to have to wait and see what happens.
This week I also booked our maternity pictures (for March) with our amazing photographer, Aubrey. She did Arden's newborn & 1-year pictures, and has done Christmas photos for us a handful of times. I happened to have a giftcard to drybar stashed away so I went ahead and booked myself an appointment for the morning of our photos!
I also set up a few chiropractic appointments for me at a place that I've been wanting to try since my last pregnancy. It sounds incredibly hippie but it's called Cafe of Life and they're kind of a wholistic-wellness center & chiropractic office. I've had a ton of friends go there while they were pregnant for adjustments and have heard that it can make a world of difference both with how you feel during pregnancy and once you go into labor (and probably afterwards too!). I've never been a big chiropractic person, but I've been feeling pretty sore and achy this pregnancy and feel like it might be good for someone to take a look at my back and see if an adjustment might help. Last pregnancy I went to another place for prenatal massages and I think I'm going to look into those again too.
28 Weeks pregnant with Arden here
PS: Funny picture from our distillery tour in Scotland! I wonder how many pregnant people they get each year! For the record, I only smelled each whisky!
