{BabyT} Bumpdate: 31 Weeks

31 Weeks

9 weeks left.
That's nuts, isn't it?
This week had its ups and downs but I think we came out on top!

I took my first prenatal yoga class (for this pregnancy).
It was an awesome hour+ of stretching and relaxing.
I think overall I still prefer pilates, but it was fun!
After the class I snuck over to Carters on my way home and picked up an adorable outfit for Arden that I think will perfect for maternity pictures. I need to work on clothes for me & Taylor next!

Arden got a fever & was down for the count for almost three days.
Fortunately she's back to her peppy, healthy self now.

Our AC went out & after having a repair guy come by and tell us needed a whole new system (for $8k!!), Taylor figured out the real problem, ordered the part and FIXED IT. Yep. He's my hero!

We enjoyed every minute of the long President's Day weekend:

Friday night I went out to celebrate a good friend in our industry and we feasted on shrimp & grits and chicken & waffles at Ida Claire.

Saturday Taylor helped his dad & brother renovate a bathroom while I went bridesmaids dress shopping with Bayley and our soon-to-be sister-in-law, Sara. We found (and ordered!) gorgeous dresses for the wedding in August! There were plenty of laughs as this preggo tried on dresses & tried to imagine what they'd look like sans bump.

Sunday/Monday Taylor officially finished re-finishing the dresser for Arden's room and we moved it into place! Doesn't it look amazing?! We are in the final stages of getting that room ready!

The weather was gorgeous so we also snuck in a bunch of long walks and trips to the playground + time in our backyard.

We also tried out a delicious new restaurant in our 'hood called Toasted coffee + kitchen
Four words: entire-menu-of-toast.
YUM!

Baby Update
BabyT is still doing great. Lots of movement but I can almost certainly feel that he's in the correct, head-down position (lots of movement at the top and bottom of my belly).

Not exactly a baby update per se, but I did recently decide that I'm going to bring our diffuser to the hospital when I go into labor. We've been using essential oils more and more at home (cue crunchy mom talk), and so now I'm trying to do my research on oils are most helpful during labor (and post-labor). I ordered a bottle of Clary Sage essential oil which is supposed to help cause contractions if your labor stalls. I'm also planning to bring a few oils that we frequently use at home like lavender (for relaxation), frankincense (for focus), orange (for energy) and peppermint (to reduce nausea). Between going to the chiropractor & reading through a book called Natural Hospital Birth, I'm getting more and more motivated to try again for a non-medicated birth & trying to get all my resources ready to help me do that!

Momma Update
Total weight gain: hovering right at 18.7 lbs total.
My weight gain seems to have been a little bit at a standstill lately, but I know that'll probably change as I get closer to the end.

I'm sad to say that I may have noticed two new little stretch marks near my belly button. I've been trying to keep up with lotioning but I haven't been quite as good about hydrating. In addition to that, I've definitely noticed that babyT is definitely making my belly stretch out quite differently than Arden did - with her I think my belly was a bit wider and maybe just more round. This little guy is sitting way lower and making my belly sick out forward more, which is think is why the skin around my belly button is getting even more stretched than last time. It's hard to see the stretch marks now (they're very light and small) so I'll just have to wait until post-baby to see the damage. Until then, lotion!

My sleep has been moderately okay. Often I do wake up to use the bathroom once at night, but more often than not I'm getting woken up because of Arden. She's been coughing at night when the air is on & it causes our room to get really dry. I recently broke our big crane humidifier & need to order a new one to see if that'll help her cough less at night.

The past week or so I've been getting tired early again, and feeling a bit nauseous here and there - it's almost like 1st trimester symptoms all over again! I'm hoping they both pass and don't turn into permanent symptoms for the rest of this pregnancy.
