At 40 weeks + 4 days I've officially carried babyT longer than miss Arden (born @ 40 wks + 3 days)!
We did make it through the end of last week (obviously).
Taylor's mom is back in town.
And my doctor is back on call.
BabyT, we are ready for you!
Last week I celebrated my official due date with a pedicure.
This weekend we mostly relaxed but fit in a bunch of fun family activities.
Including 2 really long walks on Sunday to try to get babyT moving.
We went to Arden's first school-friend birthday party.
It was at a park & was train themed and was tons of fun!
Mom was more excited about Arden's new bow than Arden:
We also went to the arboretum!
Arden LOVES bubbles and will chase them around forever:
We had pizza out one night last week & it was kind of a huge milestone because for the first time (I think) we did not bring any kind of diaper bag with us! Haha the things we get excited about these days! But seriously, it was close enough to our house that I felt like we could get there and back without a diaper change and I didn't even bring a bib or sippy cup for Arden and she did great - she stayed (mostly) clean while eating her pizza and managed the straw cup of water (with a lid!) the restaurant gave us. We were definitely being a little crazy but it felt great to get in and out of the restaurant without so much stuff. We'll be back to the giant diaper bag in about a week or so when babyT is here, ha!
Trip to the playground:
Mom/Baby Update
At my appointment last week (Tuesday) I was still 3-4cm dilated & 50% effaced - so basically I didn't progress much week over week.
We set an induction date for the first week of May (my doctor won't let me go past 42 weeks).
But I'm hoping we don't make it that far.
My OB offered to do a membrane strip at that Tuesday appointment, which can help naturally induce labor, but I declined since I was worried about going into labor too quickly (it can sometimes happen in 12-48 hours). Now it's almost a week later and I'm laughing at my over-cautiousness.
I did make a point to take a long bath every single day last week and drink tons of water.
I think it helped!
We set up my next appointment, which would include a sonogram (which is standard post-40 weeks, just to check in on the baby).
And we had that appointment today.

Those chubby cheeks (second picture) are just out of control!
They look oh so squishable & kissable!
When the sonographer told us he is measuring 7lbs 12oz Taylor and I were both a little surprised.
My OB seemed a little skeptical at those numbers too and said her guess was closer to right under 7.5 lbs (7 lbs, 7 oz). I like her guess better!
We'll just have to wait and see.
BabyT's HB was at 130.
Fluid levels were great and right where they should be.
I was measuring a solid 4 cm dilated, which seems pretty darn awesome to me.
40% of the way there, ha!
I let my OB go ahead and do a membrane sweep. Not the most comfortable thing in the world, but here's to hoping it gets things moving!
We set another appointment for next Monday, 5/1.
Induction is set for Tuesday, 5/2.
Prayers that we don't make it to either of those dates are greatly appreciated!
Weight gain @ 40 weeks = 23.9 lbs.
Yep, exactly the same as last week!
It's really kind of nice to see the number just staying flat.
Since I'm officially past the 40 week mark, I'm calling the weight tracking done.
Breakdown by trimester:
1st trimester = 2.1 lbs
(was 2.7 with Arden)
2nd trimester = 11.4 lbs
(was 14.4 with Arden)
3rd trimester = 10.4 lbs
(was 8.9 with Arden)
Total = 24 lbs
(Total with Arden = 26 lbs)
It's kind of amazing to me that both pregnancies ended up being so similar!
My OB asked if this baby feels bigger than Arden (during our weight guesstimation conversation).
Sometimes it feel like yes, but really, he just feels like he grew in a different shape than Arden.
BabyT has made my stomach stick straight out, so it does feel like he's a little bigger, while Arden seemed to make my belly grow more up and down (in an oval-type shape). Because of the shape difference, I do think I looked more pregnant this time and definitely did get a few stretch marks (whereas I barely got any with Arden). I feel like I noticed the weight of the baby more this time, but I think that's just due to it being baby number deux (same with looking pregnant sooner & needing to switch to maternity clothes sooner).
Alright babyT...we are ready for you!!!
