40 Weeks!
Well, we made it to 40 weeks! Spoiler: we made it to 40 weeks + 3 days, but in those 3 days (or really, 2 days and a few hours) I didn't get the chance to post this update :)
My due date was Friday 7/12 and I had my 40-week appointment that day and met with my back up OB, since my doctor was officially on vacation. I was 4-5cm dilated at that appointment, which was up from 3cm the week before! My OB and I put a plan together and we decided that I'd come back Monday afternoon, 7/15, and she would do another membrane sweep. We also set an induction date of Wednesday 7/17 because as it turned out, that OB was also going on vacation (her husband surprised her with a trip!) and so wouldn't be in the office past Wednesday.
I left the office feeling a touch unsettled about setting such an early induction date and so chatted with my doula about options. I decided that I would go ahead and get the sweep on Monday, but that I'd ask to push the induction date back to at least Friday of that week, which would get me to 41 weeks. {Side note: my OB was comfortable with me going to 41 weeks but a bit hesitant about going past - the worry is that the placenta can start to deteriorate after 41 weeks...so I was on board with going to 41 but not much past}
At this point I wasn't having any contractions so we went about our weekend as usual.
This is what a 40-week belly looks like!!
Gigi and pops offered to take the kiddos Saturday night so we got to spend a relaxing night at home just me and Taylor. We cooked dinner and watched a movie, and then the following morning we got to sleep in, which was amazing! We went out for breakfast to a local coffee shop and enjoyed a slow morning with just the two of us...and my giant belly. This is what 40 weeks + 2 days looks like:
Final weight gain at 40 weeks: 16.5 lbs total (& stayed here until E was born!)
First trimester: lost 0.5 lbs
Second trimester: gained 12.3 lbs
Third trimester: gained 4.7 lbs
The most interesting thing to me about tracking my weight gain during this pregnancy is that while I gained around 25.0 lbs with both Arden and Turner, at the end of all 3 pregnancies, I ended up at just about the exact same weight, literally within 1-2 lbs!

At this point mostly everything was done! I had a few things that needed to go back into my hospital bag, but were in the wash because I had worn them that week!
The alumni office at Pepperdine sent us the cutest little outfit for Evelyn (future Wave, class of 2041!):
WHAT THE FAM HAS BEEN UP TO
Despite being 40 weeks pregnant, this is what we've been up to!
Arden is taking weekly swim classes & loving them!
We still went to the Farmers Market:
I set up our summer book nook:
On Friday (due date) I totally phoned in making breakfast for the family and told Taylor that there were frozen waffles in the freezer....he got to be #fundad and took the kiddos to Starbucks for a muffin for breakfast and they were thrilled, of course! It was also splash day for them at school, so it was an extra fun day.
Turner insists on me swinging him - something I could barrrely do at this point (6-7lbs of baby + 30lbs of Turner is a lot of weight!):
I've made it past 40 weeks with all 3 kiddos!
Arden was born at 40 weeks + 3 days
Turner was born at 40 weeks + 5 days
As for Evelyn...stay tuned for her birth story!
