Weeks 17-18
HOW I’VE BEEN FEELING
So.Much.Better.
It's like night and day, seriously!
I have energy back, & I'm not feeling sick all day (just here and there, randomly), hallelujah!
With a bump that's become noticeable all of a sudden, I'm finally starting to feel (and look!) pregnant. This is the fun part!

WHAT I’VE BEEN LOVING
Nice weather!
It only lasted about 2-3 days but man it made me realize just how much I do NOT like the cold. It was so nice being able to go to the park after school, playing out front with our neighbors, and not bundling up like eskimos. Now it's back to (Dallas) "cold" (ie the 40s/30s).
Maternity clothing, ha!
I finally (finally!) got my box of maternity clothes down - haven't taken any of them out yet but I've been wearing maternity leggings & a comfy maternity tank and it's made ALL the difference in daily comfort.
ThreadUp
Head of it? I'm a fun! Concept: online consignment/thrift store! Great prices, easy ordering & returns and tons of options.
I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago after learning about it from a friend. A few of the items I ordered came in last week (they ship separately depending on where in the country your item was warehoused by ThreadUp), and it was a win! Okay actually it was 50/50 - two things I loved and two I'm sending back because they didn't fit, but overall I'm super happy I tried it (and would totally try it again). The two things I loved: this sweater dress & this casual sweater top. The former is long enough so very appropriate for work (and let's me wear maternity leggings underneath!), and the latter was a perfect weekend top (again, with leggings!). The misses were these PJ bottoms (too short) and this cute sweater dress (might have been okay not-pregnant but looks just terrible with a bit of a bump).
Their return process is super easy so those two are already on their way back.
I'm also trying out their consignment side & have shipped them a box of clothing that I had already cleared out of my closet & had been planning to drop off at GoodWill...might as well try to see if it sells first, and if it doesn't then they'll donate it for me. Win/win!
This is the sweater dress (and yes, bathroom selfie):

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO
Park trips when it was nice out & park trips even when it was below freezing! We love the park.
I got to go to a Dancing With The Stars Live show last week - super fun!

BABY’S GROWTH
Haven't had a doc appointment since last update but we do this Friday. Can't wait!
I will say that I'm officially felt her moving! Too cool. I keep trying to get Taylor to feel it but the movements are usually small and fast.

MOMMA UPDATE
At 18 weeks I'm up 3.4 lbs from my original weight (insert laughing/crying emoji here!). It's stressing me out a little bit since it really seemed to happen all in the last week, but I'm just trying to remind myself it's normal to be gaining about a pound (or two!) a week during the second trimester. We're about 4 weeks in so I guess I'm right on right.
I've started consistently doing pilates again (now that I don't feel so terrible), and it's making a world of difference with how I feel every day. Over the summer after we moved, I did CG for about 4 months which was really great at the time and helped me feel active and healthy as we were getting used to our long new commutes out to the suburbs. But once I was pregnant, it was a little too intense for me so I put my membership on hold and did nothing for about 2.5 months while I was trying to survive the 1st trimester. This happens during every pregnancy for me and it's the worst because I know I'd feel better if I just exercised and I know that the time off just makes it so much harder to jump back into workouts, but each time I just haven't been able to do anything about it until about now. So now I'm easing back in with about 15 minutes each workday morning (and 30 on the weekends) and it's wonderful. I have to modify the workouts a bit already (can't do anything laying on my stomach & trying to be aware of not putting too much pressure on my abs to prevent DR as much as possible), but now about 2 weeks in I'm getting some of my flexibility back & just starting to feel like I'm getting a little muscle tone back. Pilates is also super great to help strengthen muscles for a natural birth, which is what I'm hoping for again.

PREPPING FOR BABY
Does adding a few more bows to our collection count?
These cute ones came in this week from Little Poppy Co:
I'm also making my list for Divine Consign, which is this weekend & next weekend! I definitely plan to keep an eye out for a bumbo and a rock n play. This is the only sale before baby arrives so I'm trying to plan ahead! The good thing is there will be another sale when baby#3 is about 2 months so I only need to think through until then.
