{Baby3} Bumpdate: 19 & 20 weeks

This baby is officially half-baked!!

BABY’S GROWTH
At our 19-week appointment we had a sonogram we got to see baby girl! At the midway point, this was the "anatomy scan" ultrasound where the OB takes a good look at the baby to make sure everything looks normal We got to see her little heart beating, took a look at all 4 heart chambers, and heard a great normal heartbeat. Our OB took a look at her mouth and face and confirmed that she doesn't show any signs of a cleft lip/palate. He measured the size of her head & crown to rump length. We also saw her brain, spine, arms & legs, major organs. Everything looked great! She is measuring right on track and our OB is still projecting the same due date (maybe a day or two earlier).

Our OB also got a look at my placenta and fortunately it's in a completely normal spot this time (top/front of the uterus)! My last two pregnancies we had scares of placenta previa (placenta near or blocking the cervix) so this time I'm glad it's right where it's supposed to be.

MOMMA UPDATE/HOW I'VE BEEN FEELING/WHAT I'VE BEEN LOVING
Oh my goodness I can't believe I'm ready halfway through this pregnancy! Totally boggles my mind. I have been feeling WAY better the past few weeks. I've been doing pilates every day...woohoo!

Maternity clothes are definitely most comfortable now, though I am still wearing my non-maternity jeans (unbuttoned, ha!) for work here any there. I'm really at the point where I just need to retire them though. I found a few cute summer maternity pieces at Divine Consign this past weekend:

I'm definitely hitting the point where I look pregnant enough that people aren't doing weird double-takes when they see my belly.
Total current weight gain = 5.7 lbs. (up about 2.5 lbs over the past 2 weeks)
{I'm looking at YOU ice cream before bed every night}
(I will say, I'm glad to look back and know I was about 8 lbs up with BOTH Arden and Turner at this point. WHEW that makes me feel better!)

PREPPING FOR BABY
My sweet SIL let us borrow a bunch of baby gear that was on my list (like a rock n play, baby lounger, and a bumbo) so we're just about set on gear! We previously borrowed a rock n play from a friend and our old bumbo (also from a friend) had broken after Turner so these two things were particularly on my list. The newborn lounger was something new I wanted to try (that I swear didn't exist when we had Arden) - I'm glad to borrow these things so we didn't have to make investments in buying them new. My SIL also passed along a big 'ole bag of baby girl clothes - thank you Bells!!

Speaking of baby gear....the past two weekends have been Divine Consign! I just love DC and I work the sales, consign at the sales them, aaaand also shop. The sales are semi-annual so this is the only one before baby girl is here, so I knew there were a handful of things I definitely wanted to snag. I found mostly everything I was looking for & even got a few really cute outfits for baby girl.

Do you see the prices on some of these? Divine Consign is the best!

We saved a lot of stuff/gear from when Arden was little like pink swaddles, infant towels, and blankets. We also saved a few special outfits, but mostly only saved PJs because when I found out Turner was a boy, I realized that there were small odds that we'd have another baby girl at the exact same time of year as Arden who could use the same clothing. Arden was born in September so her NB-sized clothing was summer but then 3mo-sized clothing was winter...so I'm glad I didn't hang on to the bulk of it! This baby will likely be in summer clothing for both NB & 3mo so I picked up a few new summer outfits - they are so cute!!

Arden's fav (and mine too!):

Besides a bit of shopping, I organized the new clothing into size groupings in the closet so I could see what we still need. I'm trying really narrow in on new things we'll need to buy so I can do it gradually between now and July, so I created an Amazon registry (link here) to go along with our BabyList registry (link here). The next "prepping for baby" task I need to tackle is taking out everything we have saved from Arden and take inventory of anything we're still missing.

Another big "prepping for baby" task will be figuring out where exactly we're going to set up a nursery. We have two good-sized kiddo bedrooms upstairs and we're on the fence if we'll move Arden and Turner into the same room before baby & set up a nursery in the other bedroom or if we'll wait until baby is sleeping through the night (about 3/4mo) to make the switch. Right now we're leaning toward keeping the baby on the 1st floor with us (we remember how brutal those middle-of-the-night feedings can be and probably want to keep her as close as possible for a while) until we're not getting up multiple times a night. If she stays downstairs, we have the option of turning our guest room into a nursery OR just setting up a makeshift nursery in our master closet to keep her near our room. All that to say...we don't have any firm plans yet!

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO
We got to spend some time with our favorite cousins last week!

Trips to the park are the best!

That's about it for now...peace out first half of this pregnancy...we're on the other side now!
