{Baby3} Bumpdate: 36 & 37 Weeks

36 & 37 Weeks!

BABY’S GROWTH/MOMMA UPDATE

Well we're one week past the one-month mark and it's like time is stuck in fast forward - it's going by so fast!!!

Baby girl is still growing and gaining weight (and so is momma, ha!).

Weight gain at 36 & 37 weeks: 14.2 lbs total

I now have weekly appointments and for the most part they're pretty uneventful. She seems to be measuring more or less right on track size-wise, and my doc thinks we'll probably have a 6-7lb baby, which is a good guess considering Arden was around 6lb and Turner was around 7lbs.

The results from my StrepB test were negative, which means it's one less thing to worry about when I go into labor (if it's positive then you have to get antibiotics during delivery).

I am starting to feel contractions every now and then, but nothing consistent. The past few days I've been noticing them when I'm alone in the car driving to work.

PREPPING FOR BABY

After a whole lot of not doing anything, we're finally getting busy! I think honestly a bit of nesting is starting - this week I definitely had an urge to start cleaning the house and I started pulling baby stuff out from closets and bringing it down to the nursery. I also went out and bought size NB diapers and made sure we have plenty of wipes ready.

Speaking of nursery, while we're not done with it, we've at least made some progress! Taylor had assembled the crib a week or so ago but we discovered we were missing a few screws so I ordered the missing pieces and yesterday he got it fully assembled. Last weekend my sweet BIL's moved our glider from Turner's room down to the nursery and then moved the new chair-and-a-half up to Turner's room (and it's totally perfect btw!).

Just this morning we found a dresser that will temporarily work for Turner's room - for $10 at a garage sale! We were having a really hard time finding one that we liked (because we feel like Turner's room is still in a temporary setup since we know we'll have to shuffle things around again this year when he goes from a crib to a bed) and so when we found this one we decided just to go for it. I'm super excited that we will be able to move a dresser into the nursery because I've been feeling like I can't wash and put away clothes until there was a spot for them...and now we'll have one. Baby laundry is on the to do list for today!

This week Arden helped me make 2 batches of lactation cookies, that we then rolled into balls and put in the freezer. They are essentially chocolate-chip-peanut-butter-oatmeal cookies and they are SO yummy!

I had ordered shirts (probably for the big kiddos to wear to the hospital when they meet baby sister) and they arrived this week. How cute are these!?

Lastly, I finally went out and got the last frame for a big print for Evelyn's room. With each kid we've had an animal "theme" that we roughly followed in their rooms. Arden was supposed to be giraffes but it turned into bunnies. Turner was elephants (he has a big elephant print, and a big elephant stuffed animal, etc.). Evelyn will be lambs...so the print I got has a lamb in it (tho it's really more of a farm scene). As soon as we get the furniture in the right place and once we get stuff hung on the walls I'll take a bunch of pictures of the nursery & do a separate post.

Right now the crib has been my catchall for the baby things and nursery decor that we've been collecting:

Side note: Dohm is seriously the best sound machine ever! We have them in both kiddos rooms, will have one in Baby E's room too, and also have them at the grandparents house. Here's a link to the original & this time we decided to try out the new smaller portable one. In the past when we've been on the go or traveling we just use the white noise app but often we need our phones with us so I was excited to see this mini version!

WHAT THE FAM HAS BEEN UP TO

All the things!

Goodbye lunch for one of our sweet friends at work:

A lucky night when the kiddos got to have CFA for dinner:

Taylor and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary!
Look at these babies:

So long ago and yet seems like just yesterday:

These were anniversaries #1-#9!
We've been on some really amazing adventures today!

Being 36 weeks pregnant for your anniversary makes it a bit hard to go do anything super crazy, but we did manage a little staycation in Dallas and had a lot of fun! Taylor booked us a room at the W in downtown, and got us reservations to a delicious new restaurant, Billy Can Can.

After dinner we walked around Victory Plaza & visited a sweets shop for some candy!

The next morning we got coffees and croissants from a little bakery nearby and hung out by the rooftop pool at the W for a while before heading home. It was a great short staycation!

That day Taylor had to leave for a work trip, so I took him to the airport on my way to Pepperdine's Dallas Waves Fiesta! We love this event every year - so fun!

We survived a week of Taylor being gone (with major help from Gram and Gigi!), but Arden did manage to get sick with a stomach bug and ended up staying home from school for 3 days. This was a big deal...well enough to (finally) eat "real" food (aka soup & dry toast!).

This week my sweet coworkers threw me a lunch shower! It was just perfect and I'm so thankful for each and every one of them. They've seen our family grown from one to two to now three kiddos over the past 4 years and it was really meant a lot that they wanted to celebrate Baby Evelyn!

We were SO excited for dad to be home after his trip!!!

And that leads us up to this weekend, where we of course had to swing by the Farmers Market!

So here we are, in the final countdown!
Three weeks left, that's just crazy!
