4th of July 2019

Happy 4th of July!

I'll admit: we're all in bed and it's not even 9pm.

We are in a season right now where fireworks are just too late for our family (not to mention that our kiddos I'm sure would be absolutely terrified by the noise), and I'm okay with that...mostly. Ha!

I can't wait until the kiddos are old enough to enjoy them (because really, fireworks are spectacular!), but for now I'm totally happy with how we celebrated America's birthday, which involved time at the splash pad with our cousins & a big 'ole family lunch complete with grilled chicken, corn on the cob, plenty of watermelon, and of course, apple pie.

Easter 2019

Happy Easter 2019!

We started practicing pretty early for Easter egg hunting
(just around the house but the kids LOVED it!):

Leading up to Easter we read lots of books:

One weekend the kiddos got to decorate Easter cookies with Gigi:

The kids both had fun egg hunts at school:

We went to Easter service Saturday night:

Yep, I'm that mom.
This is what went inside our Easter eggs for our hunt at home on Easter morning:

Baskets waiting for the kiddos!

We've only done baskets for a few years but I really like putting in useful things like a summer swim suit and outdoor toys. We try to avoid just a huge basket of candy since we know the kiddos will get it everywhere else (and they certainly did!).

This year I included chalk, a few new books, a swim suit, princess bandaids (for Arden), a coloring book, some stickers, and each kiddo got a fun watch. I actually found a good majority of this stuff a few months ago at Divine Consign - and I just stashed it away until now!

Sunday afternoon we went over to Granny's house for Easter lunch. Aunt Tammy set up a wonderful egg hunt for the kiddos & had super fun baskets ready for the kids. They loved it!

Happy Easter!!!

St. Patrick's Day 2019

Holidays with kids are just too much fun!
Each kiddo had a special St. Patrick's Day outfit to wear to school on Friday (and then re-wear on Sunday, actual St. Patrick's Day) because they had class parties at school!
I had fun decorating their breakfast nook a little bit for a special Friday morning surprise.

Definitely had to work in a themed picture for my 23-week bumpdate:

I made these cute gifts for our teachers & the kiddos brought them to school on Friday.
I recycled this idea from last year because it was SO easy!
Container of Lucky Charms, gold coins, small Target gift card & green ribbon.
Done!

On Sunday the whole family wore green to church!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
